|Most recently, Dave was
Director of Automotive and Consumer Information for AAA's national office
in Washington, D.C. where he was AAA's spokesperson for automotive issues.
For 11 years, he was Editor In Chief of AAA's annual car and truck buying
guide, and wrote a newsletter offering unbiased automotive information to
consumers. He has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, Dateline,
CNN, and others to discuss automotive issues.
Dave has been a regular contributor to The Washington Times and other newspapers. Now, he writes a regular syndicated column for Motor Matters that appears in about 30 newspapers nationwide.
Van Sickle has more than 40 years of experience in the auto industry. Before becoming a writer he spent 22 years in with General Motors in management positions ranging from engineering to manufacturing, assembly, labor relations, and worldwide manufacturing site selection. During the next 15 years, Dave was president of several subsidiaries of an
auto-related manufacturing company in Cleveland and later, vice president of an original equipment manufacturer in Bennington, Vermont. He lives in Manchester, Vermont.
